The Chariot of The King of Speed

The call came today.  The highlight attraction in the 2010 Flamboro Speedway booth at the Performance World Auto Show will be the racing chariot of Ontario's "King of Speed" - #82 Jason Shaw.

The two-time Grisdale Late Model champion and former Alstar tour champion with the Shaw Motorsports team will present the next edition of the Del Metals-National Fire Equipment Ford Fusion.  The #82 Ford is often a fan favourite, not only for the Mustang-inspired paint schemes that have long been a trademark design of the Shaw racing team, but most notably for frequent trips to victory lane.  In 2009 Shaw captured 24 top five finishes in Saturday night weekly competition, including 10 wins, of which 3 were main event feature races.  Look for the Flamboro Speedway display and the Shaw Ford at booths 363 & 364.

Flamboro Speedway will also debut the hot-off-the-press 2010 Event Schedule.  We've been told that the main stay weekly program will regularly feature the Grisdale Late Models, Thunder Cars and Mini Stocks, with a weekly visitor completing the four division program.  The highlights of the summer will be the three Grisdale Triple Crown events, all 75-lap main events for the Late Model division; and new double-points nights will likely spark added interest in the summer schedule as well.  The online publication will be made available following the Performance World show.

The Performance World Auto Show is an annual collection of all things geared, attracting international attention from auto enthusiasts.  This year's knockout lineup of features include RPM Hotrods, Culture Shock Canada, model Lisa Fleming, Elite Auto Concepts, and the Lollime Bikini Show.  More details on event schedules and features can be found at the official website, Performance World Car Show.com.  The show is held at the very accessible International Centre in Mississauga, just down the road from the Toronto International Airport, at 6900 Airport Road.  This year's edition of the show will run from Friday March 12th to Sunday March 14th.
