New track champions were crowned, each accomplishing a new feat in their career. Dave Bailey earned the Mini Stock track title for the third time in four years; Randy Rusnell is the first 4-time consecutive champion with another Thunder Car championship; and Shawn Chenoweth finally closed his incredible season by receiving the top honours as speedway champion, winning both Grisdale Late Model titles, for the hometrack and Triple Crown series. Below are the names of drivers recognized for the achievements in the 2010 racing season. Sincere thanks to all the teams, staff, sponsors and fans for their part in supporting events this past year. Perfect Attendance Awards - awarded to Drivers with perfect attendance who made all scheduled events in 2010, Frostfest Not Included. *Any driver receiving a full night’s disqualification no longer qualified for perfect attendance recognition. Most Checkered Flags - based on season statistics, awarded to the driver(s) who scored the most victories overall, combining heat race and main event feature races. Mini Stocks: Tie, 13 wins - Brian Watson (including 3 features), and Rob Hoskins (including 6 features) Thunder Cars: 8 wins - Randy Rusnell (all in heats) Late Models: Tie, 15 wins - Paul Howse and Shawn Chenoweth (4 features each)
Most Improved Drivers - based on season long performance and past history, this award is determined by speedway officials and recognizes a driver who has improved their ability, attitude, competitiveness, average finish, and point standing. Most Sportsmanlike Drivers - determined by a secret ballot filled out only by member drivers of Flamboro Speedway, this award recognizes the driver who is most accessible and willing to lend a hand in the pit area, who shows consistent respect for his or her competitors, and is considered a great ambassador for the sport, the division and the speedway, as voted by their peers. President's Award - awarded annually to a friend of Flamboro Speedway whose dedicated efforts exceed expectation and go above and beyond in support of the facility, the show and the competitors. Chris Brading and MacMaster Pontiac in Orangeville
Special Presentation - from the next generation Casale family, honouring the continued efforts of the co-owners as they move forward into the 50th anniversary year for Flamboro Speedway, and remain the longest standing private ownership of any speedway facility in Ontario. The 2010 Champions and Top Runners: Flamboro Speedway Memorial Night Champions - held annually, the Memorial Night racing event honours the memory of local racing heroes and pioneers of the past. Grisdale Triple Crown Series for Late Models - the annual summer series, a three-race special event presented by Grisdale Racing that attracts racing talent from around the province and northern United States.
