Mini Stock Sponsorship Attracts Ponderosa Resort
 

The 50^th Anniversary season at Flamboro Speedway is fast approaching, and the final division sponsorship is now secured with the announcement of Ponderosa Resort as title partner to the Mini Stock class.

The third and final division partner to be announced this year, Ponderosa will join Grisdale Racing and Freedom Village of Canada in presenting this year’s weekly stock car racing program.  Said co-promoter John Casale, “It’s terrific to see new sponsorship interest going into our 50^th anniversary season.  Ponderosa Resort is a welcome partner to our weekly promotions, and a great example to how other sponsors can develop their involvement in our local events.”

Many Ponderosa Resort patrons are familiar with the speedway’s Saturday night racing shows.  Bill Pearsall of Freelton has raced under the Ponderosa colours for several years at Flamboro, first as a Mini Stock then graduating to a Thunder Car.  “I’m very excited to see their involvement grow to a division partnership;” said Pearsall.  “We will still be out in the Thunder Car this season, but being a division title sponsor is an opportunity for Ponderosa, who is quite familiar the racing, to educate the fans and drivers and get them more familiar with the great activities available at the resort on the other days of the week.”

Checking out the online calendar of events, there are a number of opportunities to join in the fun at Ponderosa Resort, including sports nights like the Super Bowl or Daytona 500 party, or theme dances held each month.  One local favourite is the Friday night Fish-Fry, which attracts visitors from all directions who come out for the exquisite fish and chips.

The Flamboro Speedway Mini Stocks and other teams will get their chance to explore the resort, as General Manager Linda Janicas plans a Spring Open House.  “We really want to get involved with the speedway this summer, and we want the drivers, their teams and families, to know about the resort and its amenities first hand.  We’re planning an open house barbecue for early in the season, a chance to have everyone out for an afternoon of fun.”

Ponderosa Resort is a family getaway park located between Highway 6 and Brock Road, on Concession Road-8, only minutes from the speedway.  Boasting beautiful facilities that include tennis courts, hiking trails, an Olympic size swimming pool and a first-class restaurant, Ponderosa has attracted guests from all over North America.  When asked what made the park special, Park Owner Lee Klauz said, “We have regular guests from Florida, Texas and even California.  We’re well respected as one of the loveliest resorts of our kind, and people love coming here for the atmosphere.”

With the sponsorship support of Ponderosa Resort, the Mini Stock point fund has been increased, and a supplemental Perfect Attendance award bonus adds even more prizing for drivers to work for this summer.  As part of this sponsorship program each registered Flamboro Speedway Mini Stock will run a decal package recognizing the sponsor, in order to qualify for the posted prizes.
