CPT Racing Experience Announces Seminars

SEMINAR SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

CPT Racing Experience offers lots for both newcomers, experienced racers

London, ON (March 5, 2008): The schedule of seminars for the all-new CPT Racing Experience has been announced. Each of the seminars will take place in the Raymond Brothers Seminar Tent located inside the main exhibit hall on the upper level of the London Convention Centre. Seminars are sponsored in part by Raymond Brothers Tents and Awnings and Jones Brown Insurance.

A variety of programs are being offered to touch on subjects related to both experienced race teams and those interested in becoming involved. There are also components designed just for young people and their families.

“We’re hoping to provide some resources that would be of benefit to people already involved in racing,” said Kevin Bulmer of CPT Entertainment Inc. “At the same time, one of our goals is to help educate people that are not currently involved in motorsports about the various opportunities with both race teams and race tracks. Many race fans might be surprised how easy it can be to get directly involved with their favourite sport.”

Seminar subjects will range from the generalities of stock car racing and drag racing to interactive workshops just for kids. An introduction to Junior stock car racing will take place on the Sunday, and sessions on working with current and potential sponsors will be part of both days of the event.

On Saturday (March 15) at 1:30 p.m., Jamie Hakonson of Fast Eddie Racewear will provide an overview of safety equipment used in racing.

“That might be the most important part of the whole weekend,” said Bulmer. “I saw Jamie give seminar on things like helmets, fire suits, safety belts and gloves a couple of years ago. I was shocked at how little some of the racers knew about the equipment they relied upon to keep themselves safe. We feel this is especially important for parents whose children are involved -- or becoming involved – in racing. You’ve got to know what the equipment will do and, perhaps more importantly, what it will not do.”

Seminars are designed to last 30 – 45 minutes in length each, though the times are expected to be flexible.

“It’s the first year,” said Bulmer. “We’ll see how it goes. Each of the people conducting seminars will adjust their approach based on the size and needs of the audience.”

Individual seminar instructors are as follows:

“We really would like to thank each of the people taking time to help us with this program,” said Bulmer, who, as a former Sales and Marketing Director for Delaware Speedway, will conduct the seminar on sponsorship strategies. “Jeff, Bob, Jamie, John and the team from Home Depot all deserve our thanks. We appreciate their willingness to give this a try.”

The CPT Racing Experience is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16 at the London Convention Centre.
