Protest Report - Event Run
May 17, 2008
The following is a summary of
the protests submitted on this race night regarding any
procedure, technical, scoring, or racing questions.
Protest filed by Mini Stock #84,
driver Lisa DeLeeuw
The protest questioned why the driver
of the #11 Mini Stock was not penalized for spinning the #84
in the feature race. Officials had been watching and
determined the spin to be a racing incident and as such, no
penalty was issued.
General Response to Questions
Regarding Restart Positioning
There were some questions concerning
the positioning of cars following accidents during feature
races. Drivers are reminded that a one-way radio is the
primary tool being used to reset the field following a
caution flag or wherever the line-up needs to be adjusted.
Failure to have the radio and follow the instructions will
result in penalties as outlined in the rulebook. Drivers
who are not in the correct position and are ahead of the
scored position, and do not respond to instructions to move
back, will be shown a black flag and sent to the back of the
field. Drivers who are lined up behind their scored
position and do not respond to instructions to move ahead,
will be left in that spot.
While every effort is being made to get
cars into the correct positions for a restart, officials
will not delay the race to realign cars, and scoring
penalties may be issued to those cars and drivers who do not
respond to instructions on Flamboro Speedway's one-way
communication system. (Frequency 451.7125 UHF, Race-ceiver
channel 138). |
