Some background on an
upcoming event...
Hi Race Fans,
Just wanted to explain some
of the hype going on at the track lately for July 26th. This
is Nonie and my 40th year racing in Ontario and we wanted to
dedicate this season to give back to the many people who
have made this journey so awesome. The last thing we want to
do is to use this year to self-serve ourselves, it's not
about that. It's about everyone else.
Many people wanted to support us for this special year and
to them we are very thankful. We've been blessed to have so
many people donate bikes, buy ads for our 40th Anniversary
souvenir program and to help promote July 26th through
advertising in almost every church from Oshawa to Niagara,
and soon on TV. The climax of that will be this Monday. I've
been invited by Huntley Street to come on and talk about my
faith and racing...pointing directly to July 26th at
Flamboro Speedway.
Here's what that night should look like.
1) there will be 6 bikes given away all sponsored
2) the Late Model race will be 40 laps
3) Nonie and I are giving every LM racer $40
4) We will give every family, and couple a copy of our book
free
5) Every race team that comes into the pits will get a free
book
6) We have arranged to get the Hospitality building in turn
one for our sponsors
(thank you John and Frank) (90 Quaker State people coming!)
7) We have generated over $7000 in advertising to promote
this event
8) CTS will run 4 or 5 commercials this week
We called this season "The Giving Back Tour" so we could say
thanks to everyone who has been a part of the past 4
decades. One bike has been given away every night and at
every track we've raced.
It's not a night to give praise to us, but instead for us to
give praise to you, the fan, our sponsors, our competitors
and the promoters. I hope lots of people come, we have about
4000 books.
Next year we will slide out of the lime light, that is
unless we're running for a championship and get the positive
press that all our top runners get and deserve. If not,
we'll keep racing until the Lord takes it away.
See you Saturday, Gary Elliott #36
